Masked with Hope

Kusika Tailoring has pivoted from tailoring everyday women's wear to tailoring non-surgical breathable masks. We spent the first three weeks upon announcement by WHO that Covid-19 was declared a Global Pandemic, researching fabrics that were breathable and could be used by health care workers as they travel to and from clinics and hospitals. We are doing our part and to date have donated masks to healthcare workers across the country, with an aim to reach 50 000 donated masked by end of May 2020. The response has been overwhelming with daily calls from clinics and other vulnerable groups needing support, to meet this demand we have organized our networks to sew and distribute masks and hope to be able to produce more to meet the demand and need.
